Project highlights: New downtown infrastructure and streetscape, park, baseball stadium, mixed-use development featuring retail, residential and underground parking
In 2016, Kannapolis was looking to bring new life to a struggling downtown. NSV Development founder Michael Lemanski consulted with the city to help them get site control of over roughly 1 million square feet of historic buildings and 50 acres of land and created a Master Redevelopment Plan. This plan included residential, retail, a new linear park with streetscape improvements and a state-of-the-art stadium to relocate the city’s Minor League Baseball team to downtown.
Kannapolis invested $113 million in the project. The new ballpark, home to the Kannapolis Cannon Ballers, opened in 2021, paving the way for more than $250 million in private development downtown.
